How to Transfer Themes to an iPhone with WinSCP: 6 Steps

People like to personalize their toys. Whether it is by putting stickers all over a guitar or changing the wallpaper on a favorite computer, humans love to make things look uniquely theirs. The large screen on an iPhone is no different. While a large number of themes are available for download through iTunes, users are not always happy with the selection and want to make their own theme or find themes that aren't offered directly through Apple. You can do this with a jailbroken iPhone, but beware that jailbreaking your phone will void your warranty.
STEPS

JAILBREAK YOUR IPHONE. The application you need to jailbreak the phone will be different depending on what generation phone you have, what firmware it is using and what kind of computer it will connect to. Download the application and follow the instructions. See the Resource section for a link to a complete list.

OPEN CYDIA FROM THE IPHONE SPRINGBOARD AND SEARCH FOR OPENSSH. Download and install it

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL WINSCP ON THE COMPUTER. (See Resources.)

GO TO THE SETTINGS APPLICATION IN THE IPHONE. Open the Wi-Fi option and click on the arrow next to the Wi-Fi connection the iPhone is using. Make a note of the IP address.

OPEN WINSCP ON THE COMPUTER AND ENTER THE IP ADDRESS. Enter "Root" as the user name and "Alpine" as the password. Select "Login."

COPY AND PASTE THE THEME INTO THE LIBRARY/THEMES FOLDER IN WINSCP.
WARNINGS
Jailbreaking an iPhone is perfectly legal, but it will void the warranty on the iPhone and could make it difficult to upgrade the firmware in the future.
